Fee and Policy Information

Withdrawals and Refunds

Course Tuition Fees:

All refunds of tuition fees to withdrawing students are at the discretion of the School’s Board of Trustees (Board). Refunds of tuition fees after arrival will only be made in exceptional circumstances.

In order to be eligible for any refund the parent(s) or the agent of the withdrawing student must apply in writing to the Board, setting out the special circumstances of the claim.

In arriving at their decision the Board will take into consideration the special circumstances of the withdrawing student and:

  • Costs already incurred by the Board including any commissions paid
  • The salaries of the teachers and support staff and any other components of the fee already committed for the duration of the course
  • An amount which covers the use of the facilities and resources to the date of withdrawal
  • Any refund of the Government’s foreign student fees.
  • Any other fees set by the Board.

NOTE

No refunds of tuition fees will be made:

  • Where students are asked to leave the school because of misbehaviour inside or outside the School, or for breaking any of the rules referred to in the Discipline Policy.
  • Where students wish to transfer to another school for whatever reason.
  • Where students return home for any reason other than the student’s serious illness or the death or serious illness of a close member of the student’s family (written evidence required)
  • Where a student acquires permanent residence after having started in the school.

Note that refunds are only payable to parent(s) or agent, and not to the student.

HOMESTAY FEES

If the school is responsible for the homestay then the balance of homestay fees not used will be refunded, less any fees due to lack of notice (usually 2 weeks homestay fees). Where the school has guaranteed the accommodation of a student in the offer of place, the student will not be permitted to move from that homestay agent for the duration of the student’s time in the school..

HOSTEL FEES

Students in the hostel are charged hostel fees for the full school year they are in. They are not refundable.

GUARDIANSHIP FEES

These are paid on an annual basis and are transferred to the guardian by the school. They are not refundable.

FEES PROTECTION POLICY

The School Board of Trustees maintains sufficient reserves to be able to return to students their fees or the unspent portion of those fees, should for some reason the School be unable to provide or to continue to provide, a course or programme.

INSURANCE POLICY

It is a compulsory requirement of enrolment and of renewal of student permits that students have a current Uni-Care Policy, or can provide documentary evidence on enrolment that they have comprehensive travel and medical insurance with an equivalent level of cover to that of the Uni-Care policy.
