In the first game of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rugby League competition Mount Albert Grammar School played St Thomas of Canterbury out at Bruce Pulman Park in Papakura.
The first half saw the score at 4-18 with the advantage to St Thomas.
MAGS rallied in the second half finishing 8 points behind.
Final Score: 28-20.
