On the evening of August 4, the Music Department proudly presented Night of the Classics, our annual classical music concert.
Held in the F. W. Gamble Hall, the evening showcased the dedication, perseverance, and musical growth of our students.
The programme featured orchestral favourites, chamber music, choral works, original student compositions, and even a special performance by ‘The Staff Meeting’, an ensemble made up of three Music Department teachers!
For our Symphony Orchestra, the concert served as an important opportunity to refine their programme ahead of the KBB Music Festival, which will take place from this coming Monday.
It also gave Centennial Choir the chance to perform new repertoire they will take to the prestigious Big Sing Finale in Christchurch later this month, where they will represent Mount Albert Grammar School on the national stage.
Music Teacher Ms Henderson said, “We would like to extend a special thanks to our Itinerant Music Teachers, who work with our students throughout the year and help make performances like this possible. Congratulations to every student performer on a memorable evening of music!”
