Milestone for ASB MAGS Farm

By September 4, 2017General News

On Friday, 8 September the ASB MAGS Farm will reach another milestone.
To celebrate the granting of resource consent for the teaching facility and experience centre, Minister of Primary Industries Nathan Guy will officially turn the first sod at the farm for the development.
He will be joined by fellow National MP Melissa Lee, and Labour MPs Peeni Henare and Michael Wood. Following the ceremony, the ASB MAGS Farm Experience Centre Advisory Group will provide an update on the project in the school hall.
The plan for the farm is to create a world-class teaching facility and experience centre that demonstrates the innovation, science and environmental best practices used on farms across New Zealand. It will also be the driver for substantially increasing the number of students studying agriculture, and attracting young people to work in primary industries.
The school has also held a successful Neighbours Day, when property owners around the farm were briefed about the development proposal.
