Rosmini won the toss and asked MAGS to bowl. Moments later, the covers were rushed on to the wicket as a shower washed over the ground. After an uncharacteristic first over that was costly, the scene was set for what was to be an incredible upset.
By the time the first wicket was secured there were 41 runs on the board from just nine overs then the second fell on the same score but, their numbers 3 and 4 formed a partnership that proved difficult to break until they had added 87. Their number 3 took advantage of our poor lengths and lines and scored at will through gaps in our field. This was unfortunately, not MAGS at their best as Rosmini piled on 205 runs.
MAGS innings couldnt get started as Rosminis attack put the ball in places that would enable our opening batsmen to self destruct. Cassidy shared in two partnerships that got us started, but when he fell on 31 what followed was a collapse that begged unbelief. It was as though suddenly the wicket we had bowled on in the morning had become a minefield, in no time at all we were 9 down for just 73 runs. Zane Koch joined Brett Randell and the pair set about steadying the ship until they were just two runs short of a century partnership when the number 11 popped one off a leading edge to short cover and the innings was over resulting in a major upset victory to Rosmini
