Vs St Peters College: June 9, 2007.

"NIKOLIC HAT TRICK SINKS ST PETER'S"

Man of the moment Milosh Nikolic rose to the occasion once again today at Alberton Avenue.
He gave League leaders Mount Albert the victory over a brave St Peter's team.

MAGS had to come from behind twice to finally seal the game in the 75th minute, when a Malcolm MacRae right wing cross was put past his own goalkeeper by a St Peter's player.

It was most unfortunate for Kelly, who along with central midfield player David Findlay, had been a constant threat to the MAGS defence.

Kelly took a ball on his chest in the 4th minute and veered to his right beating Weepu and slotted the ball past Macrae Sloper into the MAGS' goal.

An amazing start for St Peter's College who had been chasing the ball non stop. Nikolic robbed a St Peters defender and his strong shot across the St Peter's goalkeeper was a welcome sight for the MAGS supporters.
St Peter's hit the front again in the 21st minute capitalising on a poor ball from Ryan Elder.
Kelly got in behind Weepu crossed and MAGS mid-left back Skye Parmenter prodded past Sloper into the MAGS goal.

Half time: MAGS 1, St Peters 2.

Coach Kevin Fallon made changes at half time replacing Matt Killip with striker Mark Withers.
MAGS played with more urgency, but St Peter's battled every ball. Finally, in the 68th minute, a MacRae cross from the right wing was slotted home at the near post by Milosh Nikolic.

Three minutes later Nikolic completed his hat trick again from a MacRae left wing cross, this time a header at the post. MAGS were in front.

MAGS were now dominant, St Peter's had given their best but it was not good enough.

MAGS Coach Kevin Fallon said, " It took some time coming, but once it did, I sat back and relaxed. St Peter's certainly contributed to a fine game of football."

St Peters Coach Steve Finnegan acknowleded the MAGS team, stating:
"MAGS are a good side, once they came at us in the second half, it was just a matter of time before they sealed it."
