Chatham Cup - Vs Waitemata City, May 19, 2007.

"Nikolic stars in impressive display"

On a perfect day for football Mount Albert Grammar School were too much for their opposition Waitemata City.

They had to come from behind though as Waitemata opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a fine finish from the edge of the penalty area. It took MAGS 15 minutes to equalise and what a fine goal it was, involving twin strikers Mark Withers and Milosh Nikolic.
Their inter-passing completely confused the big Waitemata City defenders.
Nicolic cooly finished the move to make the score 1 - 1.

It was Nikolic again who hit the bar in the 19th minute when he should have scored.
MAGS were now looking the more dominant team and settling in to their work.

In the 25th minute skipper, Ash Solly back from injury played a superb ball into Milosh Nikolic, his fine control off his chest set him up to finish in style. MAGS were ahead 2 - 1.
A series of corners that were not cleared resulted in big Ash Solly scoring with a sweetly taken strike - 3 - 1 to MAGS in the 42nd minute.
Just prior to half time Mark Withers made it 4 - 1 at half time.

At half time Travis Wells replaced Aresh Sadeghi with Pomare Te Anau switching to the left wing. Five minutes into the half saw Milosh Nikolic running onto a Darryn Ah Kuoi through ball to beat the goal keeper and complete his hat trick.
In the 62nd minute Zane Sole replaced Kojo Owusa in the middle of the midfield. The game was now all MAGS.
Nikolic scored his fourth goal to make it 6 - 1 in the 65th minute. Darryn Ah Kuoi was replaced by 15yr old Ryan Elder in the 67th minute.
Mark Withers made it 7 - 1 in the 68th minute and added two more in the 83rd and 90th minutes to bring his tally also to four goals.
It was one of Mount Albert Grammar School's finest displays in the Chatham Cup. They were far too fit and classy for their senior opposition.

No doubt there will be some excitement on Monday as the schoolboy team await their next opponent.
MAGS Coach, Kevin Fallon said: "I enjoyed the game and it gave me an opportunity to play more members of my squad".
