The assessment calendar below has shaded the weeks that a particular assessment falls due and where appropriate, the week before. The actual date will be available from the teachers of each course. Tests also need to have preparation time devoted to them, so even one-period tests have been included.
The idea is that students in Year 11 who study six subjects can balance the pressure points in their year by planning and managing their time in the period before the assessment falls due. Where most of their six subjects have a lot of shading in the same week, this will be their busy time.
Those in year 12 and 13 who study five subjects have similar pressures, but their assessments are more demanding, so it is even more imperative that they plan.
This calendar is designed to encourage students to move away from thinking in terms of due dates - rather to think about the duration of an assessment .MAGS-Assessment-Calendar-v3.pdf (pdf version)
