Rugby at
Mount Albert Grammar School has been played since 1922
when it joined the Auckland Secondary Schools Rugby
competition, winning the Championship in 1924 and 25 .
Since then it has won 19 times, the latest being 2009.
It was also the New Zealand Champion in 1982.
The School
has also won many junior grade championships and regularly
has had players chosen to represent NZ Schools, Auckland
Secondary Schools (under 19) and Auckland at Under 15 and
Under 16 levels.
Twelve Albertians have been selected to become All Blacks.
