An outstanding defensive effort withstood the barrage of attack from Avondale College in last night's epic victory.

The team, lead by captain Emmett Watch marched "through hardship to glory" to claim their third consecutive victory in the University Shield Rugby League competition.

A spirited performance by all 17 players saw a result in our favour, 20 - 12.

Try scorers included Adam Henry, Conor Ma'u, Stephen Papa and James Finlayson. Unfortunately the kicking department is one area the team needs to address.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that made the trek to Fowlds Park to support the boys, and encourage everyone to get along and support us in our campaign to dethrone the current title holders St Pauls in two weeks time.

Full time score: Win to Mount Albert Grammar School 20 - 12.
